Our Mission Statement

The Lighthouse Learning Homeschool Co-op is the prayerfully considered project of Angela Staudt and Kristi Hackman, and is inspired by the belief that God instructs parents to teach their children.  He commands us to teach our children diligently and warns us not to delegate too much of this teaching to others.  Realizing God's plan for our families, we want to gather in fellowship, to be a group of encouragement, and a light in our communities.  We desire to welcome any family that undertakes the task of schooling their children at home and to offer prayerful guidance and support.  Above all we wish to have our gatherings be pleasing to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a blessing to the families that attend our co-op.

Rules of Conduct for Students

A child attending Lighthouse Learning Home School Co-op (LLHC) is to be an example for others, in that, they will be respectful toward others, and demonstrate through good behavior and a clean presentable appearance a respect for themselves.

Children will be on time for functions and will notify the appropriate persons when they will not be attending or be late for a function.

Children are asked to respect the HCC's building property and landscape.

Children are not to be on the lower level of the building without permission.

Discipline Policy

All interactions regarding discipline will carefully consider a child's self-esteem.  Gentleness, respect and understanding must guide all actions and words.  Discipline will be carried out through instruction, training and correction.  Physical discipline WILL NOT be used.

Children will be asked to leave a function if they demonstrate loud or inappropriate language, if they are showing disrespect to an adult or person in charge of their care and instruction, and if they are refusing to follow rules of conduct for group time.

Children workers are instructed to follow these basic guidelines:

  1. Give direct intervention and verbal instruction.

  2. Give verbal correction and instruction a second time.

  3. Give children age appropriate time away or out of activity.

  4. Notify child's parents as needed.

  5. If problems continue, teacher will notify supervisors (Angela Staudt or Kristi Hackman) before taking any further action.

Before a child will be removed from the group permanently, the child will have been verbally corrected for their behavior, and written notice will have been given to a parent to guardian.  Parents will have been asked to prayerfully deal with their child's actions.  If problems continue a meeting will be scheduled between Angela Staudt and Kristi Hackman and the persons involved.  At this meeting, we will practice a Biblical example of dealing with conflicts.

A child will be immediately removed from the group and a parent notified and asked to remove child from the premises if they do any of the following:

  1. Smoke on the premises of HCC or are found smoking on a field trip.

  2. Are found in possession of or in use of any illegal substance, this is to include alcohol.

  3. Are found demonstrating any sexual acts with another person or inappropriately displaying any part of their private person to another child or adult.

Are found to have intentionally, physically harmed another person.
